My favorite and everyone's favorite are my Nutella Croissants. I mean, who doesn't love Croissants and Nutella? Ooey gooey nutty chocolatey nutella and flaky croissants. Perfect combination. From the moment I started making croissants I've loved the challenge of figuring them out. From my first ones, which were terrible, by the way, to my last which I think are my best. But that's the thing about baking, always improving, I love it.
Who is your favorite person to bake for and what do you make most for them?
Not to sound cliché, but my mom and dad, they are my biggest supporters. I bake my focaccia and croissants the most. The focaccia for my dad, because we grew up with this "pizza" bread which now thinking back it was probably focaccia, but my dad loved that bread. And the croissants for my mom, she just always asks for them, probably because it's one thing she doesn't make herself.
How would you use the $10,000?
I would love to be able to start a small business, this money would allow me to get items I would not normally be able to afford on my own. A bigger mixer, a better oven, etc. It is just me, on a single income, so I'm a dental hygienist by day, but this money would allow me to focus more on my baking. Which would make my heart and everyones tastebuds happy.
