One of my signature bakes is the Italian rainbow cookie. Three layers of almond sponge sandwiched with raspberry and apricot jam. Finished with chocolate on both sides. This authentic recipe from my heritage has been passed down and is a classic. It’s a soft bite full of irresistible flavor, keeping customers coming back for this delight!
Who is your favorite person to bake for and what do you make most for them?
My Mom is my favorite person to bake for. She is the one who got me into baking and always had me in the kitchen with her. Not only does she love sweets but she’s awesome at critiquing my bakes. The bake she requests the most is a vanilla bean cake with vanilla pastry cream, and fresh strawberries and bananas. The cake is finished with an Italian vanilla buttercream. The perfect combination of moist cake with a creamy filling and freshness from the fruit.
How would you use the $10,000?
The 10,000 dollars would help me kick off my own business. I currently run an at home business, Desserts By Liz Lavigna while working a full time job. This money can really help me push my business out there and even get me into a brick and motor bakery. This would also validate all the time I have spent over the years practicing and learning this passion.
