My signature bakes are cake mix cookies. I make my own cake mixes and package them so I have them on hand always. And a cake mixes cookie while simple is literally an endless canvas. I’ve made probably five or six different variations of them and every single one has been gone within the hour. I have even gotten requests from people to make sure to save them one if it happens to be a day they’re not in.
Who is your favorite person to bake for and what do you make most for them?
My favorite person to bake for is actually my team of us at the Opry. We are a family and they are the most supportive people of my baking visions. constantly encouraging me and suggesting I turn it into a business and asking for seconds or to be baking testers. The genuine smiles I get from them make it worth it! A favorite of many is carrot cake so I make all sorts of different bakes of it, and my cinnamon allergy makes them even more creative bakes!
How would you use the $10,000?
I would use the $10,000 to start a bakery truck. I bake right now for the people I work with and would love to be able to run a food truck and do my part time job and see many more happy faces. I currently work at the Opry and one of my life dreams is to be able to have my bakery truck on the Opry plaza and feed guests not just the staff behind the scene! I’m healthy allergic to cinnamon so I could never work in someone else’s bakery but would love to have my own.
