My signature bake is "The Panda". It's a cookies and cream cookie with white chocolate chips and chocolate sandwich cookies mixed in. It's actually named after our beloved ten-year-old Boston Terrier. We have her picture right next to the cookies at our sales and people ask for her cookie by name now! I think customers love the flavor of the cookie and the generous amount of mix-ins we put in. We're originally from Texas but live in the DMV now so the Panda also represents DC in a way.
Who is your favorite person to bake for and what do you make most for them?
My husband has been my number one fan and favorite person to bake for since we met over six years ago. I love baking him cookies, especially if I'm experimenting with a new flavor. My nickname is Tracey so he always thought I was going to name my business "Tracey's Treats", but the more I thought about it, the more I knew that I wanted a play on our last name (Dominguez). I love my husband. He has always supported my dream of owning a baking business, hence DOUGHminguez Confections.
How would you use the $10,000?
I definitely want to bake for events like bridal showers and baby showers. Playing a part in peoples life milestones brings me great joy. I would love to purchase a small dessert trailer so that I can make my business more mobile and versatile. I have had my eye on a few models that cost less than $5000 so the ten grand would easily help me purchase that. I would also want to invest in a convection oven and industrial mixer to make my business run more efficiently.
