Apple Pie Cinnamon rolls. First and foremost I started doing cinnamon rolls because my mom tried and tried and tried and they always came out with a flaw like hard bottle, no filling, dough wasn’t right whatever the case she couldn’t master it. When I finally did it was after she passed and I love apple pie so I combined the 2 and everyone loved it so much it was the item that caused people to say “you should sell baked goods” and after hearing it so many times I gave it a try.
Who is your favorite person to bake for and what do you make most for them?
My kids and husband. They are honest. I don’t want someone to tell me they like what I made but really don’t. I want honesty. My husband is very critical. He’ll be like it’s good buuuuuttttt….. my oldest will just say if it’s good or not and my youngest if she doesn’t like it you know it’s bad. I cook and bake and they are my forever food testers. I do a lot of different cookies and cinnamon rolls and that’s what they get to try the most.
How would you use the $10,000?
I would put the $10,000 towards opening my own store front/food truck. It’s been a dream of mine, baking calms me and shuts off my brain that’s constantly going 1000thoughts per minute. It’s also something I did with my mom and I feel her with me when I bake. I call my company Lilac Sweet Treats because her favorite flower was Lilacs. if I won the money I would put it towards growing Lilac Sweet Treats from a cottage food company to a Licensed store front or food truck.
