Ever since my son was born with a dairy allergy, I took it as a sign to pursue my dream of opening a bakery that makes foods to accommodate those with dietary restrictions, specifically vegan. Creating a flaky buttery croissant that tastes as close to if not better than its dairy counterpart took a month of trialing to create a scratch made cultured vegan butter that behaves just like dairy butter in a croissant. It is what I’m best known for, and people will travel far and stock up.
Who is your favorite person to bake for and what do you make most for them?
I genuinely love to bake for everyone. If I am going to an event, especially one with food, I will bring something to share or for the host to have later. My passion is bread, so likely I will have a loaf or yeasted treat to share, with an accompaniment. I have been told I can be like an Italian Nonna, “here I made you this, you’ll like it. please eat, EAT!” Food is my true love language, if you are around and I am trying a new recipe, I will 100% be going to you with something to try
How would you use the $10,000?
Winning the grand prize would be amazing to help showcase my passion for showing that vegan foods can truly be delicious without the use of animal products. Getting the 10,000 would mean that I can upgrade equipment to help my bakery expand our offerings.
