Mmm…my most popular baked goods are my scones; particularly my salted caramel chocolate chip scone! People who try one ALWAYS come back for more. The crunchy edges of the scone are crisp with caramelization from the caramel chips and the middle is soft and moist, full of interspersed chocolate and caramel chips. It is unlike any scone you'll find at your average coffee shop.
Who is your favorite person to bake for and what do you make most for them?
My favorite person to bake for aside from my amazingly supportive customers, is my mom- although she sometimes is a customer, too! She is an exquisite baker and I’ve learned everything from her. She’s a straight shooter and will always give me her honest opinion. She will let me know if something is “too dry” or “too sweet.” But she also makes sure to let me know how great of a job I’m doing, and how wonderful of a baker I am. Even at 33 I still call my mom when I’m in a baking crisis! :-)
How would you use the $10,000?
I would probably use the $10,000 for a new oven…heres a secret: I actually do 90% of my baking in an air fryer oven. Our wall oven is small, has had issues off and on so we try not to use it much….also it is ANCIENT!! I would also use the money to buy more ingredients and supplies for my cottage bakery in bulk; boxes, containers, chocolate chips, labels.
