Petit fours are for sure my trademark treat. Everyone makes them a little differently, but the ones my Grandma created are made with vanilla or chocolate cake, a buttercream filling, and coated in delicious white or dark chocolate. I like to describe them as "old fashioned cake pops". Their small size make them the perfect addition to a dessert spread, and because you can coat them in almost any color chocolate, they can be made to match any theme or Holiday celebration.
Who is your favorite person to bake for and what do you make most for them?
My favorite person to bake for is my husband. His enthusiasm about my baking is unmatched, and he is always up to be a taste tester. He honesty, support and encouragement keeps me motivated to keep baking, and most importantly to try new things. What I make most for him are what I call "sprinkle cookies". A simple, soft and chewy sugar cookie loaded with rainbow sprinkles. On his birthday I make it into a cookie cake, which he loves even more!
How would you use the $10,000?
Winning ten thousand dollars would allow me to begin the process of shipping my baked goods. So far it has not been possible as I don't have the space, or the supplies necessary. With that money I would be able to build a space dedicated to this, and purchase the proper equipment to safely and efficiently package and ship baked goods all over the country, and maybe even someday, around the world!
