My specialty is cupcakes. I have always loved to make them because I am not perfect at cakes but I can make a beautiful cupcake that tastes incredible. For a long time it was all I offered for friends and family because I knew I couldn't screw it up. I am now adding cookies but my decorating skills are far from perfect. I love creating flavors that you don't normally see in bakeries. I also fill my cupcakes so it is truly a slice of cake but personal.
Who is your favorite person to bake for and what do you make most for them?
My husband is my favorite person to bake for. He will try any flavor I make and will tell me the honest truth if it is good or not. He hypes up my baking and brags about it to every person he meets. From day one he has tried to get me to follow my passion to open a bakery. It's still not in the cards but he can't wait until it is. His favorite thing I make is by far my sugar cookies. He could eat the entire batch if I let him.
How would you use the $10,000?
I would use the prize money to purchase anything I need for my baking. Anything from a new bigger mixer to more pans and all the little supplies to make my business successful. I would become an LLC and put most of it toward buying a bakery food truck so I could turn my passion into a full time job and career.
