I love making chocolate chip cookies because they're so versatile and so good, especially warm from the oven. There is a certain level of comfort that can be obtained from eating a couple of warm cookies with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top that you just can't get from anything else except maybe a warm brownie. My cookies will cure my need for a drink at the end of my workday at least half of the time, especially if they are made with browned butter.
Who is your favorite person to bake for and what do you make most for them?
I love baking for my coworkers because I like the to feed them and try to keep their spirits up in whatever way I can. I make a lot of cookies and bars for them and the occasional bundt cake. Sometimes I'll try to do cinnamon rolls but if I'm stressed or in a bad mood then they don't seem to turn out very well.
How would you use the $10,000?
I would like to be able to use some of it to go back to college and take some courses in history. I watch a couple YouTube channels about the history of food and I find that subject very fascinating. I would also like to use some of this money to move out of my mother's house and get my own space again because I've been living with family since I escaped a DV situation during the pandemic and I would like to be able to move on.
