My signature bake is my sweet potato poundcake with toasted marshmallow cream cheese frosting, salted caramel drizzle and toasted pecans. I would say it is my most popular treat because it is always requested during the holidays. It is the perfect conversation starter being that it is a very versatile cake. It gets better each day for some odd reason with the flavors like mace, cinnamon and caramel. It's amazing with coffee and hot alongside ice cream, perfect dessert that I created on my own.
Who is your favorite person to bake for and what do you make most for them?
My favorite person to bake for is my mother and younger sister. We used to make holiday cookie boxes and then wrap them like Christmas presents that we gifted to our family members. Over the years we have since stopped doing the boxes and share recipes amongst ourselves. My favorite thing to make for them are russian tea cakes/ mexican wedding cookies, to my knowledge they have a few names. We used to just make the plain ones
How would you use the $10,000?
I would use the money to put a down payment on my goals as a private chef/caterer. it has been a tough year, from losing my home to losing my car and even after everything I feel like situations have brought me back to my passion for culinary arts. I want to be able to have an outlet for my creative expression and share them with the world, I figure why not start here and create the momentum to get to the destination.
