My signature bake is a cake that me and my family call, the “Big Daddy”. Based off of my Dad’s favorite flavors, it is four alternating layers of chocolate and coconut cake, with a homemade caramel filling, toasted almonds, toasted coconut, and cream cheese frosting between the layers. This is my most popular treat because of the impressive hight, beauty, and utter deliciousness of the flavors that sing in an indulgent harmony. It is perfect for a large crowd, or for an ambitious family!
Who is your favorite person to bake for and what do you make most for them?
My favorite person to bake for is anyone in my immediate family, but especially my dad, because before I started baking, he claimed to not be a dessert person. I truly turned him around! I love making scones for my dad and family, because they claim that they are life-changing and a perfect texture. I also love making ice cream cake for my younger sister, because she has some of the best ideas of what to throw in there! Her favorite even including shoving an entire cheesecake in the middle!
How would you use the $10,000?
With the $10,000, I would finally have enough money to pour into publishing my very own cookbook. I have been working on it for a while, and it encompasses some of my unique and delicious wacky new desserts, many formed by combining two different sweets, such as pie and cake, cupcakes and cookies (cuppies), and even experimenting with a pavlova batter in order to create an entirely new dessert. I can’t wait to share my discoveries, and bring people new flavors they’ve never had before.
