My signature bake is my Lemon Pound Cake. It’s very moist & flavorful with a lemon icing. That was the very first cake I have ever made and my customers still love it today. And my lemon cake is very popular as well and it’s also my favorite too. So it’s always made from the heart and baked to bring joy.
Who is your favorite person to bake for and what do you make most for them?
My favorite person to bake for is my daughter, Ta’Myiah. She is the main reason that I really decided to start baking. Kids are a joy, and she definitely is. Just seeing that smile on her face lets me know that I’m doing something positive. I love seeing kids happy once they see their cake that I baked for them. Every time I bake a chocolate cake or chocolate chip cookies she is so excited because she loves chocolate. She’s the reason I pour love into every dessert that leaves my kitchen.
How would you use the $10,000?
I would use the $10,000 to expand Janie Mae Place by investing in better equipment, marketing, professional packaging and launching more products for customers nationwide. This would help me share the same experience beyond my community, create opportunities, and inspire other home bakers as well. I will continue to grow one dessert at a time.
